The Truth Behind Supple® Products
If you are concerned about joint health and have done research on the internet, then you are probably feeling very confused. There are hundreds of products that promise all kinds of relief for all kinds of joint conditions. A number of companies even take advantage of consumers by developing fake product review sites that give the appearance of being independent, but in the end, promote their own product as the preferred solution. It is therefore more important now than ever to do your own research and make your own educated choices for your joint health.
The Facts
The Most Research Evidence
Pharmaceutical strength 1500mg glucosamine and 1200mg bovine chondroitin are the most extensively studied and proven effective joint health supplements available today. In fact these agents are so widely accepted throughout Europe, that they are often sold as prescription drugs for the management of joint health. No other joint health supplement has been shown to surpass glucosamine and chondroitin in effectiveness. Click here for all the research evidence.
- Supple® delivers the full pharmaceutical strength 1500mg glucosamine and 1200mg bovine chondroitin in each daily serving.

Symptomatic and Structural Modification
Only pharmaceutical strength glucosamine and chondroitin have been clinically proven to provide symptomatic relief AND structural modification. This means you can feel better, have greater mobility and feel assured that your joints are protected over time.
“The longterm combined structure-modifying and symptom-modifying effects of glucosamine sulphate suggest that is could be a …modifying agent” in the management of joint health.
Lancet 2001:357:251-56
“This study provides evidence that oral CS (chondroitin sulfate) decreased (discomfort) and improved knee function. The inhibitory effect of CS on the radiological progression of the medial femora-tibilal joint space narrowing could suggest further evidence of its structure-modifying properties….”

The Source of Chondroitin is Important
Only Bioberica’s bovine CS b™ Chondroitin has been clinically studied and found to be effective. Let’s face it, ingredients can be expensive, so many brands will try to cut corners by selling you pig, shark, bird, or a mixture of chondroitin from a variety of sources. Of all the commercially available chondroitin products in the U.S, only Bioberica’s bovine chondroitin was deemed appropriate for use by the NIH for their study on glucosamine and chondroitin (GAIT trial).
“The primary shortcoming for the purposes of GAIT was (that) none of the manufacturing facilities produced their products in compliance with the cGMP regulations for pharmaceuticals. Other shortcomings related to the source of sodium chondroitin, purity of the product, content variability…. (Only) supplier 2 (Bioiberica, S.A., Barcelona, Spain) was selected as the source of chondroitin for GAIT.”
JAPHA 2006:46;14-24
- Supple® uses only Bioberica’s CS b™ chondroitin
All Glucosamine and Chondroitin is NOT the Same
There is a significant problem with contamination, mislabeling, and adulteration of ingredients in the U.S. marketplace. The vast majority of glucosamine and chondroitin in the U.S. is imported from China, where manufacturers do not have adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s). The end result is often low quality, mislabeled, or even fake ingredients that you could be paying hundreds of dollars for. In 2006, the National Institutes of Health made the following observation:
“In the United States, glucosamine and chondroitin …are considered dietary supplements and are not held to the stringent standards of pharmaceutical manufacture. If these agents are to be widely used…serious consideration must be given to their current regulatory status in order to ensure potency and purity.”
NEJM 2006: 354;8;807.
An independent University of Maryland study found that among 32 commercially available glucosamine and chondroitin products:
“…the glucosamine and chondroitin content ranged from as low as 0% to 115% of the labeled claim (and)… 84% of brands that were tested are inferior products.”
J Am Nutraceutical Assoc. 2000;3:37–44.
- Supple® uses only American-made pharmaceutical strength glucosamine and chondroitin produced under the strictest
Good Manufacturing Practices. We guarantee 100% of label claims.
If You Have Shellfish Allergy, Only Vegetarian Glucosamine is Safe
Roughly 6.0 million Americans have seafood allergies which may potentially be life-threatening and should be taken very seriously. However, 90% of glucosamine sold in the United States is derived from shellfish in China. According to industry reports:
“if customers walked through some of their (Chinese) facilities and saw the conditions under which glucosamine is made, it would turn their stomachs.” Furthermore, “Chinese product is generally backed by an unsigned certificate of analysis on a trading firm’s letterhead, making the results hard to confirm or query.” McCoy, M. Chemical and Engineering News. April 3, 2000, vol 78, number 14, 20-21.
- Supple® uses glucosamine manufactured by Cargill Acidulants, the only producer in the U.S of 100% vegetarian derived glucosamine following strict GMPs.
